I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
